Taking their cues from the glamour of Claridge’s in the 1920s and 1930s, the art deco bedrooms pair mellow tones with geometric lines and polished glass accents. While our collection of traditionally styled Superior King Rooms are a perfectly balanced blend of chic and comfortable.

Claridge’s has held a strong royal connection since the 1860s and it was during this time that Queen Victoria and her dear friend Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III and Empress of France, visited Claridge’s. When The Empress set sail across the Channel to Claridge’s, her home away from home, her Mistress of Robes – The Duchess of Rivoli – was always by her side.

Our unique Superior King, the Duchess of Rivoli Room, echoes the traditional design and French flair of the Empress Eugenie Suite. The Duchess of Rivoli Room was inspired by the Duchess herself, along with the garments and jewelry that she chose for The Empress.

The Mayfair Balcony Room celebrates all the history of Claridge's, pairing original features and contemporary touches with stunning views across the city. Our Mayfair Balcony King category draws on the design and motifs from the hotel's past, and includes rooms in traditional and art deco style. The former feature period details such as gilded cornices, while the latter are inspired by the fashions and patterns of the 1930s. This attention to detail continues in the polished marble bathrooms where the taps and brassware have been custom made to an original Claridge's design. Amenities include flat screen TVs and air conditioning, with some rooms also offering USB charging points.

Each detail tells a story from the polished burr veneer and bespoke joinery which carry through from lobby to dining room to the Murano pendant suspended above the mahogany dining table, designed for entertaining. Fireplaces in the living area and master bedroom bear the Claridge’s insignia on custom inlays while striking rugs inspired by Christian Berard introduce a dash of theatre, and Italian glass lamps illuminate the way.

Sip cocktails at the in-suite bar with the grand piano as your soundtrack, before stepping straight out to the terrace with London’s skyline as an iconic backdrop.

The history of Claridge’s is reimagined at The Residence – an exquisite, two-tier glasshouse with two beautifully appointed bedrooms. Drawing on fluid, Deco-inspired details, acclaimed designer André Fu has crafted the definitive sky sanctuary in the heart of Mayfair.
