Amazing!
August
Pros: incredible customer service; beautiful ship; amazing food; wonderful shows; overall incredible first Disney cruise experience
Cons: Senses spa and port stops
Recommended: Yes
We had a great time on the Disney Fantasy as our first Disney Cruise trip. From the minute you walked on until the minute you left, it was just an incredible experience. We were sad to leave.
Only 2 cons... We paid for two cruise-long passes to the Senses spa and it was a bit underwhelming. I probably would not repeat that purchase.
Cozumel and Cayman were a bit disappointing. We chose the "Beach Day" in Cayman and it was a very crowded beach, minimal food choices for lunch and a pain to arrive at the beach (tender boat and bus to/from the beach). If we had to do it over, we would have instead enjoyed staying on the ship both days.
We will definitely go on another Disney cruise, but next time, we will choose the ship that only stops at their 2 private islands in the Bahamas. Unfortunately, our day at Castaway Cay was affected by bad weather, so we are excited to experience there another time.
Family Cruise

Pros: Wonderful Experience for every family member young and old
Cons: Real Coffee availability

Great cruise...ship was fantastic...service was wonderful...very efficient
First Disney Cruise
January
Pros: Service
Cons: Food
Recommended: Yes
My wife and I took our first Disney Cruise last week. We went with our friends and their daughter. We had a wonderful time.
The Pros. The service was great and the cabin was a good size and the bed was comfortable. We received excellent services from the crew, especially our dining and stateroom team. They tended to our needs and in some cases, went above and beyond what we expected. Palo restaurant was outrageously good. Definitely a must go!
However, there were some cons. First, the temperature in the Animators Palate dining room was a bit warm. Not sure if the air conditioning wasn't working properly or not, but it was warmer in that dining room than all the others. Also at the Animators Palate, the food was not as good as the other dining room. The quality and taste was below what is expected for Disney's quality.
Overall, we had an excellent time. The service was excellent. Overall, the dining experience and quality was excellent, with the exception of the experience in the Animators Palate.
unforgettable vacation on a wonderful ship
January
Pros: efficiency of lines, dinner, wait times, workers, etc. One real pro that stuck out for us was that the nightly shows, they were a bit too loud & scared our toddler, but that may just be our babe. They were fantastic shows.
Cons: would like more food options at dinner, maybe geared more towards the boring eaters, or keep the buffet open at dinner time.
Recommended: Yes
We had a wonderful time. Our staff was excellent. I couldn't believe for as many people that were on the ship how smooth everything went. We already placed our placeholder for a cruise next year. With a toddler, this is the perfect vacation. Ship was very very very clean.
Cruise
December
Pros: Fun for the whole family, excellent food, exceptional service, great way to see many countries
Cons: Getting off the boat at check out it tricky with lots of lines
Recommended: Yes
We had the most magical vacation on the Disney Fantasy. Kids 13, 10 and 7 all loved it and were in tears as we debarked because they did not want it to end. Every port adventure booked through disney was very seamless and easy. Dinner service was great your waiters rotate restaurants with you and each restaurant was a delicous 4 course meal. They entained the kids with magic tricks, riddles, brain teaser games and organmi. The rooms were cleaned twice a day. Plenty of entertainment for all ages including kids club. I get car sick and motion sickness very easily and had no issues on the boat. We had 8 days of great weather and were told by staff that December is the best weather on all island. We got one stateroom for all 5 of us and there way plenty of room with a queen bed and 3 single beds.
Disney Cruise
June
Pros: Beautiful ship, great shows, amazing food and service
Cons: Everything is overpriced from WiFi, drinks, excursions, etc.
Recommended: Yes
I am glad it was a once in a lifetime trip. I could have gone on three cruises for the price the disney cruise cost. I was looking at a future disney cruise and saw it was 6k a person. Again great cruise but not worth the money.
Amazing trip
May
Pros: Easy Boarding, wonderful service, entertainment was great
Cons: Needed more games and trivia for teens and less all adult when it was appropriate for younger

Review of Fantasy Experience
March
Pros: Entertainment! Food! Dining room servers!
Cons: Concierge staff. Spa.
Recommended: Yes
So I didn’t pay full price for this cruise, and I’m so glad I didn’t. If I would have it wouldn’t have been worth the price. The room was amazing! The concierge staff was not all amazing. The spa was almost insulting because they always wanted to up sell you so much on weight loss products, and detoxing stuff. I was very uncomfortable with their overpriced services. The entertainment was wonderful! The dining team was AMAZING! Swimming with the dolphins in St. Thomas at Coral World was 100% worth the cost!
Disney cruise 2022
October
Pros: On-ship entertainment, ship cleanliness, ship staff
Cons:
Recommended: Yes
We had a great time on our latest Disney Cruise. You pay more for a Disney cruise, but we feel it is worth it. The broadway quality shows and entertainers they provide are top-notch. The ship is incredibly well-kept and the staff so accommodating. We love the rotational dining and the fact that our table staff move with us each night. We truly get to know them. Disney’s private island Castaway Cay is always a highlight of the trip. We are already dreaming of our next adventure!
7-day Eastern Caribbean
June
Pros: Wonderful ship wonerful service
Cons: Expensive
Recommended: Yes
It was a wonderful trip. The crew were attentive and pleasant. One of us tested positive for Covid and DCL provided outstanding support all expenses paid during CDC mandated quarantine.
This was as good as it gets for a cruise, especially with family.
Thoughts from a 73 year old grandmother
December
Pros: I would give this ship a "5" for a family cruise. My granddaughter loves all things Disney. Castaway Cay is a magnificent beach. Covid protocols strictly enforced and I felt very safe from getting the virus. Extremely clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and energetic. The bathroom facilities are divided into two rooms. One has a toilet and sink, the other has a bathtub and sink. This works well with little kids who take baths.
Cons: I would give this ship a "1" for an seniors only cruise. Too much emphasis on communicating through phone apps. They've discontinued printed daily schedules and we had to request menus in the dining rooms. I did not care for the bathtub. It was slippery, and I did not feel safe getting in and out of it. If I ever take another Disney cruise I might request an accessible room just because of this.
Recommended: Yes
Note that my rating is the average between how I view the Fantasy for a family cruise vs. for a seniors cruise. We were on a family cruise and it was a great ship for this trip.
Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!
January
Pros: Very kid friendly(all ages!!!)
Cons: You don’t want to get off the ship when it’s over!
Recommended: Yes
The ship was absolutely incredible! The crew were amazing, super friendly, and their customer service was above and beyond! The organization was so awesome and there was not one part of the ship that wasn’t super clean! The food was out of this world!!! This was our favorite vacation by far!!!

Pros: Our Trip exceed expectations; Its Perfection Plus; Disney leaves nothing more to be desired

Not sure I would recommend the excursions.
Enjoyable family vacation
June
Pros: Good food. Good entertainment.
Cons: Crowds
Recommended: Yes
If you have kids that are into Disney and their related entities (Marvel, Star Wars, etc.) then this is a great option for a family vacation. The breakfast and dinners were good. Lunch was ok. I'm not into stage shows but they were decent. The movies on the ship were good - mainly recent movies such as Dumbo, Alladin, Captain Marvel and Avengers: End Game. The kids enjoyed the kids club, pools and the Aqua Duck.
Disney disappointment
April
Pros: Wonderful dining experience
Cons: Too overpriced for what you get, even for Disney
Recommended: Yes
We are experienced cruisers multiple cruise lines, 20 plus cruises. We just didn’t feel we got the bang for our buck. The staff was fabulous. The dining experience was extremely entertaining and our waiters were incredible. We had issues with our room. The bathroom was not cleaned properly (looked clean but smelled like a gas station restroom). Other issues with our stateroom steward. Good cruise for family with young children but feel otherwise the value isn’t there. Would NOT recommend this cruise for older kids and adults.
Disney Fantasy
January
Pros: Service and all personnel
Cons:

This was a fantastic ship with amazing crew. They anticipated every need
and went above and beyond to please us. Our grandkids want to go back
again! The evening shows and entertainment were great, also the fireworks
display. We will recommend this to anyone.
Absolutely loved this
December
Pros: Entertainment, food, friendly staff
Cons: children running around unsupervised by parents
Recommended: Yes
I know what I am getting into going on a Disney Cruise..... lots of children. What I am not prepared for are parents not caring one bit about their children and their actions like running around everywhere and not caring if they knock you over. With all that being said, I still had a very wonderful time. The staff was very helpful and cared if I had an issue.
Best ever
July
Pros: The food, the employees, the movies offered, the activities for children, the adult tasting moments!!
Cons: None.
Recommended: Yes
I am a fussy old lady retired teacher. My husband and I took 38 of our children and grandchildren. The only bad part? Having to get off the ship and know the trip if over! Seriously we had the very best trip ever. We have done several family holidays through the years and while all were good, this was great!
Great vacation for all ages!
June
Pros: Beautiful ship, excellent food, wonderful service, great attitudes of ship personnel.
Cons: small pools for the kids, the Disney character breakfast was a waste - better food at the buffet and only about 5 characters and 4 were unknowns.
Recommended: Yes
We loved our time on the Disney Fantasy and I am so grateful to my agent for putting it all together. I felt confident that all the i's had been dotted compared to if I had arranged it.

Pros:
Cons:
Recommended: No
We loved our family cruise. My only recommendation would be to slow down dinner service. We always felt rushed at the 8:15 service. You barely had a chance to finish one serving and the other was placed. All staff seemed to be in a frenzy.
Good for families
April
Pros: Huge attention to childrens' needs. Very high attention to detail
Cons: Not so much for adults, meals tend to suit N American palates
Recommended: Yes
A trifle noisy in public areas, Adult areas are respected and quiet, Superb housekeeping. No library. Prices for extras seem reasonable.
Very very good staff. Recommendation depends if you are travelling with children or grandchildren,
if not - look elsewhere.
The opening show was embarrassing. Family therapy thru cruising.
The headline acts - magician from Maple Ridge and ventriloquist were the best I have seen at sea. They could have done with a lot more lectures for the adults on board.
The destinations were restricted a/c the hurricane last year
My 1st Disney Cruise

Disney Fantasy
October
Pros:
Cons: Adult entertainment shows/trivia only lasted 45 mins. One set of duo singers were only on the schedule for 15 minutes.
Recommended: Yes
We were 9 people - 6 adults and 3 children - 13, 10 & 8. Everyone had a great time and there was something for everyone to do. As mentioned above, we tried to go to some adult entertainment on the schedule but I found it too short overall and can be at least extended to an hour.
Our Family's Magical Fantasy
June
Pros: Friendly, professional cast members; clean rooms and public areas;
Cons: mobile app didn't work all the time; no lap pool for adults

All the activities for the kids were great and gave me worry-free fun time for myself.
There was always something going on for both adults and families so lots of fun for everyone.

Fantastic Fantasy Cruise
April
Pros: It' was a Disney and a Star Wars cruise!
Cons: Maybe too many people?
Recommended: Yes
It's such a large ship, but Disney's magic can make everything work (and I mean Everything!) .... except fitting that many people into the pool and sun deck area during the multiple days at sea.
After the first day at sea my seven year old son was not interested in the pool area at all because it was simply too crowded. And I honestly wouldn't know how they could make that any better. Other than that, the whole experience was pretty perfect, and my son didn't miss the pool and sun deck anyway with so many other activities to keep him engaged and entertained. The entire staff and crew seems to have a single minded dedication to the happiness of every guest on the ship.
We've already reserved a spot on a Disney cruise in the future.
Fun family trip
March
Pros: Oustanding service, delicious food, beautiful ship and staterooms
Cons: Pools are small and very crowded, expensive
Recommended: Yes
We had a great trip on the Disney Fantasy. The staff are superb at catering to the needs of your little travelers and the service was exceptional. The food was delicious and the kids enjoyed spending time in the Oceaneer's Club which gave Mom and Dad a nice break! Our Cruise included a Star Wars Day at Sea which was very well done and thoroughly enjoyed by both kids and adults. I do wish there had been more character experiences with Star Wars day as it would have been fun to get photos with more of the characters and had more than just one day to interact with them.
My only real complaint is that the family pools are very small and seemed to be closed a lot during our days at sea. The kids would have been extremely content floating around the pool but there wasn't really room for that. They loved the Aquaduck waterslide though so that made up for some of it.
We loved our day at Castaway Cay - wish we could have had more time there. I would have gladly stayed there another day.

Disney Fantasy
October
Pros: Incredible staff, amenities for all, Disney atmosphere
Cons: Very expensive
Recommended: Yes
We had a fantastic time on our cruise. The weather was great and the ship was pretty incredible. Our stateroom with verandah was spacious and allowed four of us to move about easily. Sleeping arrangements were also great. We will never cruise without a verandah again.
Every employee greets you every time they pass you by. The work they do is impeccable. Our room was spotless and our dinner servers were great! The rotational dining is pretty cool. We were very lucky to dine in Animator's Palate three times. We highly recommend you request that your first dining night occur in Animator's Palate so you can hit it three times.
Overall, the food was just OK for what we expected. There was a lot of variety for dinner and that was probably the best food. Breakfast was fine. It's buffet style with lots of choices but nothing really special. Flo's Diner was average food at best but was definitely the kids' favorite place. We did not pay extra to dine in Palo or Remy but our table mates did and said it was incredible.
There are several pools between the family area and the adult only area. They were all fine and different. The kids loved the Aquaduck and found that evenings allowed for continual riding. While docked at St Maarten, we were docked next to another cruise ship. It had far more variety of water slides and activities to do than the Fantasy. Still not a deal breaker, though, as our shipped looked magnificent in comparison.
There are two large kids clubs that boast many activities from video games to arts and crafts. You can choose to allow your kids to be checked in and out by parents or allow them to come and go on their own. Our kids are 8 and 11 so we let them be free. Unfortunately they did not hang there much. The biggest complaint was the high number of kids under 8 which made it unappealing for our almost 12 and almost 9 year old. Our 11 year old did not hang out in the tween club.
In the end, we decided that Disney cruises were likely the only cruise line that we would let our kids roam free on. If we try a cruise on a different cruise line, we will have to play it by ear as to their freedom. As for costs, we were not unhappy about the price we did pay. We were very unhappy about the sudden policy change that used to allow adults to bring alcohol onboard.
Additionally, we found Disney's customer service over the phone and on their Facebook page to be almost nonexistent. While most companies interact with customers on FB, Disney chooses not to at all. There are people asking questions on their page and nothing is answered. It's like a ghost town. Very odd. It feels like a "once we have their money..." kind of thing.
You should also know that you will be surrounded by Disnay fanatics. Lots of Mickey ears, costumes, and princess dresses on kids and adults alike. In the end, if you can afford it, go for it. It was a great experience. If you can't afford it, there are many other great options that will take you to the same ports and probably serve better food for half the cost.
Fantastic cruise experience
October
Pros: Amazing stateroom and service, Disney, October festivities
Cons: cost
Recommended: Yes
You are paying for the magic that only Disney can create. Interactions with the characters are so much fun...Ariel personally escorted my daughter to the kids club! The service is the best we've ever had and the ship is the cleanest we've ever been on. We had a ocean view room with a huge window and window seat. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only possible negative is the food was anywhere from so-so to really good (not poor enough to keep us from gaining several pounds!). We have had better food on other cruise lines, but the rest of the experience more than made up it. They have 2 big halloween shows and trick-or-treating in October so you may want to bring costumes. The shows we saw were fantastic! My husband (who usually doesn't care that much for cruises) loved it and now highly recommends Disney. I am SO glad we spent the extra money and took our girls while it was still magical for them.
Great family vacation for all agrs
July
Pros: Something for everyone. Our family ranged in age from 11 to 85 and everyone had a blast.
Cons: Ship was a bit crowded

Pros: Love the ship.
Cons: The first two days the wind was blowing about 40 MPH. It was quite bumpy.

Great cruise.
exceeded our expectations
August
Pros: fantastic experience
Cons: can't think of any
Recommended: Yes
The ship felt clean, excellent staff, fun dining rooms, delicious meals, talented show hosts, good movies, fantastic excursions - in particular: Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel, swimming with dolphins and stingrays in Grand Cayman, Dunn River Falls w/ lunch then horseback riding on a trail and then in the water in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Disney Fantasy
August
Pros: All staff & employees gave wonderful service..clean, neat, ship..& fun fun fun. Everyone was ready to help, and I particularly liked that all employees had the place of their origin & their name on their ID pins.
Cons: Being an elderly adult..the noise level of so many children was a bit overwhelming
Recommended: Yes
We adults enjoyed our dining experience at Remy & Palo. Again, the service at the two restaurants was above average. The shows were quality entertainment. In regard to the parents & children, I saw a lot of laughing and exhilaration . Disney knows how to cater to the children in all of us, yet allows the 18 + to enjoy their grown up time. Thank you Disney......... And a big hug & round of applause to my travel agent, for giving us a wonderful family vacation, & time together to share or not !!!! The choices were great.
Review of the Disney Fantasy
July
Pros: Disney is great on details. They no how to handle crowds effectively and efficiently
Cons: At sea days are crowded.

Best Waite staff I have had on over a dozen cruises. Ship gets a little crowded on " at sea days" but not unbearable. On those days getting an elevator is next to impossible. Port Adventures were OK but not great. A bit pricey for what you get.
