Panama Canal Cruise

January

Pros: Ship size was just right, crew was excellent, excursions and events on board very entertaining

Cons: Would have liked longer excursions.

Recommended: Yes

We had a great time on this 15 day cruise. Excursions were spaced out just right. Cannot say enough good things about the crew. Very attentive, knowledgeable and fun to be around. Discovered art auctions for the first time thru Park West Gallery. Food, including the buffet was very good. Locals on all excursions were extremely friendly and welcoming.

Good, bad, sad

January

Pros: people, excursions, food, shows

Cons: Not enough fun/good activities.

Recommended: No

?***Chef Fredy made my eating experience very enjoyable. I have celiac and need to eat gluten free. He helped me find food from ?day one.? Every meal he would walk me around and let me know what I could safely eat. I didn't get sick once.?That's a ?#1?0 in my books. Also, our Stateroom Steward, Jocelyn, was fantastic. She took care of us all day everyday. ?Sadly, I was surprised to see how few ?fun activities were offered during the day. I'm not a big shopper and I don't drink. By the fourth day I was so bored. On Day 8 I bought internet access so I had things to do. This was our first ever cruise. We have saved up for ?YEARS to afford this cruise. We were very let down. In talking with other passengers they had the same feeling.? Most of them were experienced cruisers. Many told us we need to take a?t least one more cruise? to see what a good cruise is.? This experience was not what I should judge a cruise on. I'm not a complaining person but this was bad? and I'm very sad. I don't think we will ever be able to afford to take another one.

Princess Cruise aboard Island Princess 12/22/2024

December

Pros: Professional and pleasant crew, clean suite, good excursions, ease of disinbarkment

Cons: Room service menus could be improved and food delivered when delivered was not even warm

Recommended: Yes

I would like to give a special thanks to ALEN OUR ROON STEWART WHO DID A GREAT JOB AND TO Kyna Johnson in GUEST Services who went beyond our expectations in trying to assist us with a plan for Aruba. In addition our expectation when planning the trip was to do most of our dinners in the speciality restaurants but on the third day we went to the main dinning room the Bordeaux and found the staff to be outstanding and withe the exception of one night which I will comment on below we dined every night in the Bordeaux.Iwould like to especially thank Ricardo the supervisor,Kerwin waiter, and Subha jr waiter for making our dinning experience a total pleasure. I did mention above that on one evening we did decide to dine at the Crab Shack and frankly it was a total waste of time and money. The service was sub par the food was just ok . One last thing it might be a good idea is to remove Trinidad from a port stop.If I desire to get robbed or killed there a several places I can go to in the world but I would no do it for a vacation.

Island Princess

November

Pros: Warm and inviting staff, Crooners Lounge with delightful staff and great drinks, exemplary food in both the main dining room and Horizons Court (buffett), easy boarding and unboarding, good WiFi, relaxing atmosphere

Cons: No International Cafe, something we really enjoyed on the Emerald Princess. In my review for Princess, I suggested that the smokers lounge near Crooners, in a prime spot, be changed to an International Cafe.

Recommended: Yes

I gave the ship four instead of five stars only because of the lack of an International Cafe, with its delicious pastries and great cappacino and other coffees. Otherwise, the ship was staffed by friendly and professional employess and had the relaxing atmosphere that we prefer. All the musicians in the Crooners Lounge and the in central area of the ship were quite good and enjoyable as well. We look forward to traveling again on Princess. (Note below: We did not participate in any activities, but a score is required.)

It was an exciting.

July

Pros: Staterooms are clean and fresh smelling.

Cons: Wi-Fi bit expensive

Recommended: Yes

All the crews were very kind, helpful and happy in all dining areas. But Putu Dedi Setiawan, our stateroom keeper and Made Wastiana from the formal Dining (5th floor) made our dining experience a memorable and enjoyable one. Cheers to both of them and wish all the best specially the up coming father Tutu and his wife..keep up the good work..

World Cruise 2024

April

Pros: Great embarkation process, destination information, CREW, and activities

Cons: Small ship with limited space for food and entertainment venues

Recommended: Yes

The CREW was consistently pleasant, helpful, and a joy to be around. Princess does a GREAT job of organizing the movement of people. Getting on-board took less than 15 minutes, to sign in, get my medalion, and be in my cabin. Shore tours are also well organized and available for people with handicaps. Presentations (Called "Enrichment") are TERRIFIC, if often a bit early for late sleepers. They cover any amount of subjects including shore destinations, history of the region being cruised, general information about bunches of things (aviation, art, British Royalty, Rock & Roll, photography, etc.). The ship is small and that doesn't allow for numerous food venues. Especially lacking is the International Cafe, which is so popular on other Princess ships. The theater is small and access is limited to two aisles, meaning that the bulk of guests must squeeze through in front of other people to get to seats.
